Day 13 Activity Plan

Period & Subject Activity Details & Methodology
Period 1 Greet, Meet & Conversation Activity 1: Weather Marking
  • Follow the regular greeting instructions. Ask children about the current weather conditions and guide them to mark it properly on the weather card.

Activity 2: Don't Alarm the Monkey
Materials: A small bell.
  • Make children sit in a large circle. Instruct one student to pretend to be a sleeping monkey in the center.
  • The remaining children must pass the bell silently to each other around the circle. The sound of the bell should not be heard.
  • If the bell rings, the monkey wakes up and takes the seat of the child who held the bell. That child then becomes the next monkey. Repeat the cycle.

Activity 3: My Favourite Doll
Materials: Different types of dolls (Paper doll, puppets, wooden dolls, woollen dolls, cloth dolls, stick dolls, or locally available toys).
  • Seat the children in a comfortable semicircle. Place a variety of toys on a tray in the center.
  • Call children one by one to freely choose a doll of their preference from the tray.
  • Ask individual open-ended questions about the chosen doll to spark self-expression.
Period 2 My Time Children move to their favorite learning corners and perform activities they want to explore. Teachers act as a compliance index, supervisor, and facilitator.
Period 3 Basic Numerical Knowledge
Abilities: Development of the sense of smell, environmental awareness.
Objective: To identify various distinct smells accurately.
Activity: Guess the Smell
Ingredients: Onion, garlic, incense sticks (agarbatti), mint, fresh fruits, overripe/rotten fruits, or other strong-smelling items.
Method:
  • Have children sit in a circle or a straight line. Introduce the items to the group.
  • Blindfold the children one by one, allow them to smell a chosen object or fruit, and encourage them to guess its name. Ensure every child gets an opportunity to participate.
Period 4 Creative Arts
Competency: Adopt pro-social behaviors; respect the feelings and rights of others; respect the various supportive community professions.
Objectives: To increase perceptual power and identify various helpers in the local community.
Activity: Helper of My Community
Materials: Community helper flashcards.
Method:
  • Introduce the roles of important community professionals (e.g., Doctor, Police Officer, Teacher). Discuss whether children have seen them around and how they assist us in our daily lives.
  • Encourage children to mime/act out their roles. When one child acts, the rest of the class should guess and identify the profession.
Period 5 Language Development
Strengths & Competencies: Self-control, development of positive self-concepts, and respect for the feelings or rights of others.
Activity: Let's Draw a Picture of a Garden
Materials: Drawing sheets, paint, pencils, crayons.
Method: Ask children to draw a picture of a park or garden based on their memory. Provide time for them to expressively share their experiences and feelings about the parks they have visited.
Period 6 Outdoor Games
Strengths: Develops deep concentration and core muscle strengthening.
Activity: Vajrasana Yoga Posture
Method: Provide clear, simple instructions. Guide children to sit in the Vajrasana posture with their eyes closed and back held straight. Place both hands gently on their lap using a simple mudra framework.
Period 7 Story Time
Objectives: Enhance predictive skills, spark an interest in collecting story-related media, and build a proactive questioning attitude.
Title: Natural Beauty
Materials: Character masks.
Method: Make story time highly interactive by utilizing character masks. Collaborate with older students to share roles and act it out. Ask simple comprehension questions after the narrative to ensure effective listening.
Period 8 See You Again
  • Recall & Review: Revisit and recall all the unique activities conducted throughout Day 13.
  • Home Extension: Motivate children to share their learning experiences and games with family members at home.
  • Happy Farewell: Organize a brief happy routine so they look forward to returning tomorrow, and coordinate a simple "do-it-yourself" activity.
