 *Vidya Chethana day 8*

 *Period;1* Greet Meet Conversatio n


Activity 1

Greet the children by calling each child by his/her name Activity 2 :

Materials: Music player or mobile, flash cards of various animals Method: 1. Have the children stand in a circle.

Encourage them to talk about their favorite animal. (pet or wild animal) as a model may be initiated by the teacher himself.

Make sure everyone gets a chance to speak.

(Hint: Teachers can add their own questions and encourage children to speak in their native language as well)


 *Period* ; *2* 

My time

Children move to the learning corners and perform the activities which they like to perform. Teachers will act as a instructor.


 *Period:3*

 Basic numerical knowledge

Abilities: Sound awareness, memory and environmental awareness.

Activity : Listen and say

OBJECTIVES:- To identify the sound by listening. Necessary materials: Hearing aid

Method: Ask the children to sit in different groups. Children in each group listen to animal sounds with the help of a hearing aid, identifying which animal it is. Each

Continue the activity till the child gets a chance.


 *Period:4* 

Creative arts

Abilities: Awareness of self and others, oral language development, vocabulary development. Activity : Abhinaya Songs/Dramas.

Evolution of physical development.

Rhyme, rhythm, context and pronunciation with increasing vocabulary.

Recognizing physical feelings. Materials: Copy of Rhymes.

Method : Make the children stand in a circle. Facilitators allow children to sing rhymes they know. Singing rhyming songs with body movements.

Encourage listening and enjoying rhyming words in rhymes.


 *Period:5*

 Language development

Strengths: Targeted writing, attention and listening, creative thinking, vocabulary development.

Activity : Shared Writing Objectives:

Introducing shared writing.

Practicing writing on purpose.

Engage in target writing with attention.

Thinking creatively and expressing them in writing. Development of vocabulary. Materials Required: Blackboard and Drawing Sheet

Method: Organize shared writing activities two or three times a month. Give a topic and relate that topic through a story or their experiences

Inform to share through writing. Suggested Topic:- My School Points to note:

Giving necessary hints to create sentences related to each topic. with children Demonstrating writing by engaging in writing

Teacher writes and reads the first sentence. Then the children tell in their own sentences. Children can be allowed to respond in their mother tongue. In such a situation, teachers do it Translate and say in school language.

The teacher writes on the blackboard in front of the children. Children learn the correct order of writing

Whatever the children write in the school should be given before the children.


 *Period:6*

 Outdoor games

Activity: How much? how much You said

To competency: Develop Numerical Knowledge

Method: Make the children stand in a circle and when the teacher says how many, the children will answer as much as you have said.

Find out, a group that does not match the number will be out of the game.


 *Period:7*

 Story time

Title : Sony & Tomatoes

Materials: Text, pictures of characters. Objectives:

→ To develop listening skills.

→ To Increase curiosity

→To Increase vocabulary.

→ Develop acting skills. Method:

→ Reading and revising the story.

→ Narrating the names of the characters in the story by children.

→ Teacher tells similar short stories.
